This accordion tunnel book features the image of a gardener surrounded by flowers, plants and birds. I have done a number of images that show interactions with birds. To me birds represent freedom and vulnerability. Inspiration for this print/poem came from a poem by 1880s American poet Emily Dickinson that starts with line "Hope is the thing with feathers." My poem reads: Hope - The thing with feathers - A small promise in the deepest green - Hidden in the leaves - Waiting to be discovered  - So it can take flight and sing into your soul.
